How does billing work with insurance?

Most private or employer based insurance plans, unless they are specialized, do not cover Music Therapy as a service. However, Medicaid does fully cover it. In Colorado, Medicaid provides services to individuals with special needs through a waiver system. If your child or client is not already on Medicaid, the process involves an application through the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing. Working with a Resource Coordinator, you will choose the best waiver for the client to be on to access the most services in the most timely manner possible. Once the client is on Medicaid, services will be administered through a regional Community Centered Board. Developmental Disabilities Resource Center serves Jefferson, Clear Creek, Gilpin, and Summit Counties, North Metro Community Services serves Adams County, Developmental Pathways serves Arapahoe County, Douglas County, and the City of Aurora, Rocky Mountain Human Services serves Denver, and Imagine! serves Boulder and Broomfield. Working with your Resource Coordinator from your Community Centered Board, you can choose Music with Mallory as your Music Therapy service provider.
